I do, in fact, still exist.  I also keep track of the blog, and I’m sure to always keep it up to date and such.  (Well, in terms of my WordPress installation anyhow.)  It’s interesting how many subscribers I still have nearly 10 months later as well.  I don’t know if people are just too lazy to unsubscribe, or if they are holding onto some shred of hope that I will be returning.

Well, first of all, it’s not like I WENT anywhere.

Second of all, this post isn’t a re-introduction of PTD to the World of World of Warcraft Blogging.  (See what I did there?  Slick, eh?)  I’ve pretty much had my fill of WoW and the MMO scene, and though there are times I miss it, those times are few and far between.

Now then, I vaguely remember promising I would let you all know where you could continue reading me, and that’s what I’m here for.  It took my awhile to really get my sea-legs, but I’m finally getting to a happy new place in my writing.  Keep in mind there is nothing World of Warcraft-y, but I am still a gamer.  You can find me at my new blog here:

http://invisibleeyeball.com (Huge bonus points if you get the reference, but it’s awfully hoity-toity!)

You can also find me posting periodically at Bitmob, a sort of community-driven gaming site run by Dan Hsu and Demian Linn.  Here’s a link to my stuff, though you can find it all at my personal blog as well.

So there you have it.  I hope you’re all still having a blast in game, I know I would be.  You’ve got that whole Cataclysm thing a’comin’, right?

Sorry, I’m feeling a little Sci Fi today.  Anyhow, just a quick update so’s you know I’m alive.  I intend to be a little less frequent with my posts this month for a couple of reasons.

  1. I’m doing that whole NaNoWriMo thing.  I’ve always wanted to write a book, and this is the kind of thing that gives me the motivation to actually try and GET IT DONE!  Very briefly, my story has NOTHING to do with WoW.  I’m writing a good old detective story with some fantastic elements.
  2. The release of Wrath.  Let’s face it, we’re all going to be too busy playing to do much else.  Hell, I’ve been too busy since 3.02 hit.  I’m not a "news blog," so I don’t intend to do any journaling or news feed type stuff.  There are better blogs for that!

So there you have it.  If you’re like me, you’re having a blast right now anyway, and haven’t been reading as many blogs.  I know I haven’t been reading as many, and I consider blogging a job!  Anyhow, I will still put up a post or two a week, just don’t expect 4 or more anytime soon.  :)   Have fun all!

Just a quick one for you here.  My wife’s family has a mini Pumpkin carving contest every year.  Five or so of us carve pumpkins the week of Halloween and a few neighbors from across the street judge.

There is no prize in this contest, only pure glory.  In that way, I suppose it’s much like an achievement!

Anyhow, I think we did a pretty good job this year, and thought I’d share the pics.  Halloween is my favorite holiday, after all.  :)

The fist pic is all of the pumpkins, and the next two are close-ups of the winner.

Not bad eh?  Pictures don’t QUITE do them justice, of course.  That Frankenstein is pretty good looking, though.  From a little ways away he almost looked REAL.  Creepy.  Guess who carved him?  :)

That’s right, I won it for the second year running.  Woot!

PTD has earned the achievement [Pumpkin Carving Master]!

You might not see much here for the next few days.  My wife and I just had our second baby today, a boy.  So that puts PTD temporarily out of commission.  I will be back as soon as I can!

So, I’ve got nothing today.  I’m not going to try to cover the Midsummer whatchamacallit.  There are plenty of other bloggers who have that well covered.  Nor am I going to talk about Season 4, becuse, well, I don’t PvP.  Except in real life.

So, on a totally unrelated to WoW perspective, what’s your favorite bad movie?  You know, the movie that you KNOW in your brain is terrible, but you can’t help but enjoy it. Maybe it’s just plain funny.  Maybe it affects you emotionally in some way.  Maybe it reminds you of a different time in your life.  Whatever it is, you will always like that one BAAAAD movie.

For me, it’s a slam dunk – that movie is Strange Brew. If you were born after 1980 or so, you probably never heard of it.  It tells the tale of Bob and Doug McKenzie (Rick Moranis and Dave Thomas, respectively…and no, not the Dave Thomas from Wendy’s) and their quest for, well, free beer.  It’s actually loosely based on the story of Hamlet, but none of that is important.  Even though the humor is of the bad, low brow type, I can’t help but crack up when I watch it.  Here are a couple of my favorite quotes:

BOB: Did you see the way she was lookin’ at me?
DOUG: Yeah, because she thought you were some kind of freak!

BOB: Jeez, you’re real nice. If I didn’t have puke-breath, I’d kiss you.

DOUG: I am your father, Luke. Give in to the dark side of the force, you knob.
BOB: He saw Jedi 17 times, eh!

So there is my dirty little movie secret. What BAD movie do you just love?
